It was a beautiful morning to plant our last strawberry tips for the season. Now we just have to finish rooting the plants. We have between now and October 1 to get things grown and delivered. It will be a busy 6 weeks. We also got a nice surprise package this week. Lassen Canyon Nursery. They sent us 2 experimental varieties to trial here in the midwest. A couple of the plants will be looked at here on our farm and the rest will be delivered to Dr Amanda McWhirt. Amanda is an extension specialist with the University of Arkansas. She is going to run the trials and see how they do in comparison to current varieties grown here in the midwest. ... See MoreSee Less
